1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair

A reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent, the title of 1:54 establishes the parameters of the fair's ethos: as a platform that strives to represent multiplicity and showcase the diversity of contemporary African art and culture production on an international stage.

About Worldwide FM
Launched on the 5th of September, Worldwide FM is a new, global music radio platform broadcasting live from London, with branches reaching across the world. A new addition to Gilles Peterson’s taste-making Worldwide brand, Worldwide FM will be co-hosted by Gilles and Thris Tian, working together to curate a daily programme of esteemed friends and family. Worldwide FM’s ambition is to become THE globally minded, online destination for discovering music.
File-hosting platform WeTransfer will help power the new station, whose mission statement is the same as the one running through all of Gilles’ other endeavours, as label-head, DJ and radio presenter: to explore and tie together the shape-shifting diversity of global music.
With this global outlook in mind, secondary broadcast studios will soon follow in Los Angeles and mainland Europe, alongside a new London HQ. Regular DJs and guest appearances, live sessions, interviews, features and discussions will all combine to reflect the platform’s eclectic ethos, building on the test broadcast earlier this year that included appearances from Pharoahe Monch, Louie Vega, Saul Williams, Abdullah Ibrahim, Paul Bradshaw.
